We are currently seeking an Aero-Thermal Engineer to join  HVAC and Thermals System team. No past experience in the automotive HVAC field is required. Seniority level will be determined on individual basis for experienced candidates.  Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with cross functional team of engineers to develop and optimize HVAC system components for flow, thermal performance,  noise, and cost. HVAC components include inlet plenums, blowers, module, ducting, air vents, air extractors, vales and actuators
  • Perform CFD and thermal analysis of HVAC system components, identify drawbacks and improvements
  • Develop novel HVAC concepts considering packaging and manufacturingconstrains
  • Develop test methods and support testing of HVAC components
  • Support other vehicle design activities requiring CFD and thermal experience on as needed basis

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in past projects
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to quickly asses engineering feasibility without a need of long and detailed analysis
  • Knowledge of at least one leading CFD tools
  • Proficiency in CAD to develop 3D models for CFD analysis
  • Sound understanding of benefits and drawbacks of CFD simulation and real life testing
  • Strong data analysis skills to aid in technical decision making
  • BS (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automotive HVAC systems
  • Experience with heat exchangers, fans, blowers, air valves
  • Experience simulating moving geometries (e.g blowers, air valves)
  • Experience with air filtration principles and types of filters
