The Durability Test Engineer will lead all testing activities for the systems and components for the complete vehicle development process. This will include early loads collection and development, cascading of loads and testing requirements, to full vehicle, system, and component testing. This position will work with all testing activities in the company including Regulatory, Certification, and Compliance testing as well as all system/dyno and sub-system/component testing.

Your Role:

  • Be responsible for the development and execution of Durability cycle and confirmation via vehicle level loads collection
  • Work directly with design engineers to create design validation test plans
  • Design and fabrication of test equipment for mechanical, thermal and electrical systems
  • Cascading of all durability loads to all systems and components
  • Target setting
  • Verification of all System and Component testing such that they all match the cascaded loads
  • Optimization of all testing schedules for test cell optimization
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different Engineering Disciplines
  • Support and improve test plans and procedures
  • Proactive issue resolution with cross-functional partners
  • Investigate root cause of failures and help to drive product improvement
  • Cradle (pre-program approval) to production physical test evaluations


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in with vehicle level testing and development
  • Experience in operating data acquisition systems and sensors
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle performance targets
  • Demonstrated background working in cross-functional teams and an ability to influence design-based test results
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good logical problem solving and analytical skills


  • Minimum B.S. degree in an engineering discipline; M.S. or MBA preferred.
