We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Program Planner.  The Planner will manage all supplier part delivery per the forecast, confirm parts meet specification, and resolve material shortage issues.  The material planner will partner with Global Supply Managers, Logistics, and Manufacturing to ensure builds happen on time, and with quality.  Any issues will be reported to the Sr. Material Planners for reporting and escalation. 

The Role:

  • Location:  Newark, CA with opportunity to move to production plant in Casa Grande, AZ
  • Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
  • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule
  • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production
  • Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
  • Utilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as require
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
  • Minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
  • Provide status, risks, and build issue feedback to the Sr. Planner for reporting and escalation
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
  • Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
  • Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with Global Supply Managers
  • Work with the Supply Chain Program Manager to ensure production detail is provided from suppliers to support ERP system setup, and packaging requirements for production are specified and accepted by the suppliers
  • Travel 25% to visit key suppliers to perform business and program reviews


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or program management field.  Automotive experience a plus.  Internship experience meets this requirement; recent college graduates can apply.
  • Product launch experience preferred
  • Understanding of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis.  Able to show teamwork to resolve problems and a thought process to drive successful solutions
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem solving skills. Passion for results, strategy, and hands on execution. Creative and a calculated risk taker
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
  • Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively
