We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to help with tenant improvements at Newark Headquarters, Prototype Plant, future production plants, and facilities . Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

  • Create, benchmark, and validate project budgets – while maintaining a database of historic spend
  • Forecast, request and manage annual department spending limits
  • Manage new and existing project schedules, identifying areas for overlap and improvement
  • Oversee general contractors work and spending to ensure cost stays within budget and within the project timeline
  • Lead the permit approval process with the city of Newark
  • Implement a pre-construction analysis process to identify areas of value in early project stages
  • Lead individual projects with minimal oversight
  • Manage change orders tracking for each of the construction projects
  • Communicate weekly project status to the leadership

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of general construction, tenant improvements, or hospitality construction experience
  • Expertise in sourcing general contractors, sub-contractors and fabricators
  • Working knowledge of construction processes and operations
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on time and on schedule
  • Experience dealing with city permit departments
  • Knowledge of city and state codes
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with general contractors, understanding what can be constructed, dealing with city permit approvals, and building codes
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering recommended
