We are currently seeking an EMC Technical Specialist.  This position requires an experienced professional to execute and prepare of EMC simulations to guarantee compliance of Lucid’s Electronic ECUs. The Role:

  • The EMC Technical Specialist reports to Test and Validation team and is responsible for simulate EM performance using CST or ANSYS as well testing and debugging, also the development of the technical EMC specification at component level, participate on the definition of technical RFQs in the EMC/EMI Field.
  • Lead the simulations for infotainment and controls ECU’s prior to the execution of tests for pre-compliance and compliance at Lucid facilities or External laboratories and will be part of the EMC/SI community.
  • Utilize engineering principles and knowledge of vehicle and ECUs design, electromechanical devices, High voltage devices, and related engineering disciplines to simulate complex electronic devices.
  • Deep analysis of EM physics in the areas of EMC/EMI for LTE, 5G, RF and antennas.
  • Develop, conduct and deliver high analytical models/simulations with the goal to achieve the best EM performance in Lucid’s ECUs and Vehicle.
  • Develop and deliver accurate finite-element models utilizing CST or ANSYS or similar electromagnetic analysis software
  • Investigate new technologies, performing component, sub-system and vehicle EMC/EMI/ESD simulations.
  • Compute static and dynamic EM loads and current/loss distribution.
  • Work with design engineers to create detailed component models.
  • Review/Analyze electrical and mechanical designs.
  • Design and conduct experiments on EM measurements/simulations.
  • Review component EMC test plans.
  • Provide EMC technical support to product design teams and EMC Test engineers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debug for product deviations.
  • Responsible for timely, accurate, and precise EMC simulation performance reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement and coming up with creative ideas of simulations.


  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 EMC laboratory requirements.
  • Experience with controls type software, R&S EMC32, TILE, TOYO is a plus.
  • Maintain current knowledge of EMC standards and testing procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience with EM simulation tools like ANSYS, EMCoS, COMSOL, CST is most required
  • 8+ years of experience with VNAs, Spectrum Analyzer
  • Knowledge in HV and LV
  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • MS or PhD desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive industry.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Participate as a team member to accomplish the Lucid EMC’s requirements.
  • Use of tools like: Matlab, Python, Labview, Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Support capital equipment and road mapping process for the test lab to identify equipment upgrades, capacity increase, and new technologies.
  • Standards like CISPR25, UNECE Reg10.5 ISO 11452-2, ISO 11452-4, ISO 7637-2-3 & ISO 10605
  • Detailed knowledge of Automotive EMC phenomena and theory.
  • Familiarity with worldwide Automotive EMC standards.
  • WCCA and DFMEA is a plus
