We are currently seeking a Design Engineer.  All experience levels will be considered and seniority will be determined on an individual basis.  Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

  • Develop mechanical designs and packaging layouts of HVAC and Thermal System components to meet system and vehicle requirements while optimizing for efficiency, cost, weight, manufacturability and serviceability
  • Support system development through the entire life cycle including requirement creation, feasibility studies and layouts, detail design, PLM release, prototype builds, vehicle test, and production
  • Interface with suppliers and internal customers to ensure timely program deliverables within budget
  • Ensure vehicles conform to all motor vehicle safety standards governing system operation


  • Proven track record of excellence in previous projects
  • Outstanding 3D modeling skills, ability to model and modify complex solid and surface geometries - CATIA V5/V6 or 3DExperience preferred, but candidates proficient in other CAD packages (Solidworks, ProE, Inventor, etc.) will also be considered
  • Ability to solve complex 3D packaging problems
  • General familiarity with various mechanical components and its’s principle of operation to understand vehicle packaging constrains(automotive experience desired but not required)
  • Experience in GD&T and Design for Assembly and Manufacture
  • Knowledge of engineering materials, processes, and tooling
  • Demonstrable motivation and ability to solve novel, difficult design problems with tight timing constraints
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Strong communication skills to engage in deep technical discussions with cross-functional teams
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Practical knowledge of standard refrigeration cycles
  • Experience in thermal management, heat transfer, and fluid transfer
  • Experience working with automotive OEM’s and HVAC and Powertrain Cooling hardware suppliers
  • Experience with automotive Thermal Systems including inlet plenums, air filters, fans and blowers, HVAC modules, cabin ducting, heat exchangers, and fluid transfer components
  • Knowledge of industrial cooling and heating requirements and technical specifications
  • Experience designing plastic parts
