Contribute to the establishment of a world class legal department, leading the public policy program as Legal Counsel reporting to the Director of Legal. Collaborate with legal team business stakeholders to facilitate the best practices and process within the framework of public policy.

The Role

  • Identify and analyze legislative and regulatory initiatives at the federal and state levels that are currently impacting or may impact the business objectives of Lucid.
  • Translate policy developments into meaningful guidance and strategic advice for leadership and business stakeholders at Lucid.
  • Engage directly with policymakers and regulators at the federal and state levels on behalf of Lucid to guide relevant initiatives.
  • Build coalitions within the sustainable transportation and energy communities to increase momentum behind policy and legislative proposals that are conducive to the business strategy of Lucid. 
  • Coordinate internally with Legal, Sales, Service, Marketing, and other teams as needed to meet the objectives of the role.


  • 10+ years’ experience with a mix of in-house, top-tier law firm and State or Federal government.
  • JD or LLM degree.
  • Admissions to at least one US State Bar with the eligibility to Register as In-House Counsel status with the California State Bar.
  • Must have a proven track record for policy initiatives.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
  • Must be able to self-manage and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have experience building and managing a team.
  • Knowledge of transportation and electricity policy topics with particular focus on electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, ZEV, dealership franchise and RPS programs, preferred
