About the Team
Lucid is currently seeking a Homologation Engineer for our primary safety team. This position requires a motivated individual with focus on current and future global regulations who has the capability to research, interpret and document homologation requirements. The successful candidate will interact cross functionally throughout the business and will be provided an opportunity for exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines. A positive working attitude, a strong desire to learn and the ability to quickly establish themselves within a team are must-haves.
About the Role
Reporting to the Primary Safety Homologation Manager, we are seeking an Engineer to join our Primary Safety team, who is responsible for all Chassis, Dynamics and ADAS certification and compliance across all vehicle platforms and global markets. You will quickly learn our technology and the world of vehicle regulations as you first support, and then conduct under supervision, in-house tests to demonstrate compliance before leading certain technical fields. You must have strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset as well as being able to deliver projects on time in order to support production timelines and market introductions.
What You Own
- Interpret, document, and cascade regulatory requirements to cross-functional engineering teams
- Create and maintain regulatory application documents for different markets.
- Conduct and support in-house and third-party regulatory testing for vehicle systems and functions.
- Involve in technical discussions with regulatory authorities, technical services, and internal engineering teams for chassis, active safety and ADAS systems.
- Support Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and SOTIF (ISO 21448) compliance activities as they relate to regulatory approval and market access requirements.
- Track running changes and ensure timely reporting.
- Develop working knowledge of existing and future automotive regulations.
- Participate in homologation program management, helping to effectively plan for upcoming changes.
- Assist manufacturing team with tasks such as labelling, COP, annual Homologation updates, etc.
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- General understanding of automotive systems, vehicle development processes, and industry practices.
- Basic understanding of electric vehicle (EV) architecture.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering and program teams.
- Excellent communication skills (able to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders).
- Ability to travel domestically as needed, with potential for some international travel.
- Ability to work effectively under time-sensitive conditions and meet project milestones
- Valid US Driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive regulatory compliance and certification activities, including FMVSS, UNECE/ECE, CMVSS, and other global vehicle regulations.
- Experience supporting vehicle-level testing or validation.
- Familiarity with data acquisition and test instrumentation systems such as LINK V-MAX, Dewesoft, IPETRONIK, and similar platforms.
- Familiarity with CAN communication, diagnostics, and calibration tools, including Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Vector VN interfaces, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Safety of the Intended Functionality (ISO 21448/SOTIF) concepts and their application to vehicle systems.
- Experience working with regulatory authorities, technical services, and certification agencies such as NHTSA, EPA, CARB, Transport Canada, UNECE approval authorities, and similar organizations.
- Understanding of vehicle development processes, engineering change management, and project management principles.

Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.
