Efficiency that Redefines What’s Possible

Driving an electric vehicle goes beyond just fuel savings, lower tailpipe emissions, and cutting-edge technology. It means giving yourself the freedom to roam and the power to enjoy the ride.

Say Goodbye to Range Anxiety

When you drive an electric vehicle like a Lucid, you can take an unplanned detour, spontaneously explore the road less traveled, and change destinations on a whim without worrying whether you have enough range.¹ Today, life with an EV can feel effortless. But it wasn’t always that way.

The old approach to EV range used to be straightforward: if drivers need more miles, just make bigger batteries. The result was heavier and pricier cars that still didn’t drive very far.

A New Approach to Electric Vehicle Range

The revolution came when vehicle engineers reframed the entire question from range to efficiency and started asking, “how do we go farther with less energy?”

At Lucid, we broke the entire mold. Instead of accepting constraints, we designed our own proprietary motors and advanced battery technology, with components engineered for range without compromising performance.

The result: Lucid vehicles are among the most efficient on the road. Lucid Air Pure has achieved a unique milestone in the EV space: an efficiency of five miles per kilowatt-hour,² the equivalent to 140+ miles per gallon for a gas-powered car. These aren’t just specs: they’re real, everyday advantages for Lucid drivers.

What Efficiency Means for You

Lucid vehicles are engineered from frunk to trunk for efficiency, making it possible to do more with less:

  • Enjoy more range with every charge.¹

  • Stop to charge less often than other EVs (and gas-powered vehicles, too).

  • When you do stop, add miles faster than most other EVs.⁵, ⁶

  • Save money charging over time compared to buying gasoline.

  • Take advantage of all the extra space that a smaller battery affords you.

This industry-leading efficiency cascades through everything: exceptional range, confident journeys, and better performance. Over the vehicle’s lifetime, this lower energy consumption also lessens environmental impact.

The Range Debate Is Over

There was a time when 265 miles (425 km) of range made headlines. That time is long gone.

Today’s high-performance electric vehicles routinely deliver much higher range on a single charge. Lucid Air Grand Touring delivers an EPA-estimated range of 512 miles (824 km),¹ enough to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco with range to spare. Meanwhile, Lucid Gravity Grand Touring delivers an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles.⁶

That’s not just good for an EV. It’s more than most drivers could cover between stops in any vehicle.

With range like that, the question almost becomes irrelevant for day-to-day driving. The average person drives about 40 miles (65 km) per day. With 420 miles (676 km) of range in Lucid Air Pure,¹ you could likely drive around for more than a week without needing to charge.

Flexible, Lightning-Fast Charging Wherever You Are

Your Lucid already takes you farther on a single charge. When it’s time to replenish your battery, its industry-leading charging capabilities get you back on the road fast.

Lucid vehicles are designed to support:

  • DC fast charging for superior charging on the go

  • Efficient AC charging at home, work, or wherever your journey leads

  • Seamless charging station compatibility with an expanding charging ecosystem

When you’re at home or work, smart charging controls help you fit charging into your existing routine. And when you’re on the road, the Lucid Charging Service makes public charging easy with available Plug & Charge, which lets you plug in, start charging automatically, and pay with ease, no other apps to juggle, no payment cards to tap.

Both Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity feature novel charging architectures that let you add a surprising number of miles in mere minutes at certain DC fast charging stations. In Lucid Air, add up to 200 miles in only 12 minutes with its top trim,⁵ while in Lucid Gravity, add up to 200 miles of range in under 11 minutes with its top trim.⁶

Smart Energy Both On and Off the Road

Your Lucid isn’t just a way to get around, it’s a new way to power your life.

Lucid has designed an entire energy experience that gives you more control over your energy:

  • Intelligent charging scheduling

  • Energy‑aware features that adapt to driving and charging behavior

  • A platform built for future energy innovation

Lucid’s bi‑directional charging capabilities already let you harness the energy stored in your battery beyond just driving and are future‑ready to power even more features as ecosystems, standards, and energy infrastructure evolve.

That means having enough range to drive with confidence, the power to share energy with other EV drivers, and the potential to power your essentials when you’re off the grid, from a campsite to a worksite, and even your whole home. Your Lucid is a keystone in a changing world where your vehicle doesn’t just consume energy, but helps manage it.

Frequently Asked Questions

EV charging varies by speed and power delivery. To help explain charging differences, regulatory organizations such as the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Department of Energy categorize charging into three levels:

Level 1 Charging

Level 1 charging uses a standard household outlet, typically a 110-volt circuit. Most homes have many of these outlets, and they are widely available in public spaces as well. Charging with a Level 1 source usually provides a little over 1 kW of power, adding only a few miles of range per hour. This method is best suited for overnight home charging. Keep in mind that in extremely cold weather, Level 1 charging may only generate enough energy to maintain the battery’s temperature, resulting in little to no increase in driving range.

Level 2 Charging

Level 2 charging is the most effective way to charge your vehicle at home. It uses a 240-volt power supply and delivers significantly faster charging speeds compared to Level 1. With Level 2 charging, you can typically fully recharge your battery overnight. Available Level 2 solutions vary in output, delivering anywhere from 6 to 80 amps. The Lucid Connected Home Charging Station is among the fastest Level 2 chargers available, offering maximum home charging performance.

DC Fast Charging

DC fast charging stations are typically found in public locations and are provided by networks such as Electrify America, EVgo, and Tesla. DC fast charging delivers substantially higher power than residential charging, making it the fastest way to recharge an electric vehicle. It is ideal for road trips or situations where you need to recharge quickly.

For everyday driving, a charge limit of up to 80% is generally recommended. EV batteries tend to perform best when kept within the 20% to 80% range, and staying in that range as much as possible can help support long-term battery health. With Lucid Air’s industry-leading range, an 80% charge is typically enough for most daily driving needs.

Charging to 100% is best reserved for when you need maximum range, such as before a long trip. Frequently charging to 100%, or leaving the battery at a full charge for extended periods, can place additional stress on the battery and may contribute to increased wear over time. For everyday driving, using the Daily charge limit (20–80%) is recommended to help support long-term battery health.
