Overview
Confidently head out every morning thanks to convenient home charging, the easiest and most affordable way to power your EV. With Lucid’s various charging options, there’s nothing to plan or worry about. Just plug in as you’re winding down so your vehicle can be juicing up overnight, ready by the time you head out and take on your new day.
Every home is different. Thankfully, home charging is easier than you might think, and there’s a home charging solution for every need. You can easily start with one, then decide to upgrade later if and when your needs change.
You can begin charging your Lucid at home immediately with a standard household outlet (120 V) that you already have, no special setup needed, letting you add up to 3 miles of range per hour. This is known as Level 1 charging. While many owners are perfectly satisfied with Level 1 charging at home, many others opt to install a new, dedicated circuit and outlet with more power that is reserved for their vehicle, enabling faster and more flexible home charging.
For a dedicated power supply, you have two main options: a high-quality, industrial-grade 240-volt NEMA 14-50 outlet that you can use with the Lucid Mobile Charging cable, or a hardwired home charging station, such as the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station, which provides some of the fastest home charging you can get. Both of these options are referred to as Level 2 charging, even though hardwired charging is generally much faster.

Lucid Connected Home Charging Station
The Lucid Connected Home Charging Station is one of the fastest home chargers available on the market today. It provides reliable, year-round home charging for your Lucid when installed in a protected location, even if you might be charging in your driveway. And with its 24-foot cable, you have extra flexibility over where it gets installed and where you can park. Plug in and add up to 80 miles of range per hour.¹ Home charging is also usually the most economical and grid-friendly ways to charge, and with Scheduled Charging, you can take advantage of even more advantageous electricity rates, where available.
The Lucid Connected Home Charging Station is Wi-Fi enabled for software updates and hardware-ready for Lucid’s future bidirectional vehicle-to-home charging solution.

There are two Lucid Connected Home Charging Station Models:
J1772 Connected Home Charging Station for Lucid Air
The J1772 model features a J1772 charging connector, allowing it to be plugged directly in to Lucid Air’s combination J1772/CCS1 charge port and in to Lucid Gravity’s NACS charge port with a Lucid-approved AC adapter.
NACS Connected Home Charging Station for Lucid Gravity
The NACS model features a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging connector, allowing it to be plugged in to Lucid Gravity’s native NACS port and in to Lucid Air’s J1772/CCS1 charge port with a Lucid-approved AC adapter.

Lucid Connected Home Charging Station Specifications
The Lucid Connected Home Charging Station lets you charge at up to 240 volts and 80 amps, allowing you to add up to 80 miles of estimated range every hour. Its compact dimensions and 24-foot cable mean it can fit in some of the tightest spaces and allow you to plug in easily, both indoors and outdoors. It is Wi-Fi- and ethernet-enabled for over-the-air updates and is capable of being paired with additional equipment for bidirectional charging features that are currently under development. Lucid Mobile Charging Cable
The Lucid Mobile Charging Cable is a portable charging kit that serves as a convenient charging solution, whether you’re on the road or charging at home. Its 20-foot cable is long enough to ensure maximum accessibility to an appropriate power outlet, but compact enough to fit in your trunk or frunk without taking up too much room. Traveling with a charging cable handy can help reduce range anxiety and give you the freedom to charge in more places if your battery is running low.
There are two Mobile Charging Cable Kits, one for Lucid Air and one for Lucid Gravity:
If you have a J1772 cable and want to charge a Lucid Gravity, no problem. With a Lucid-approved AC adapter, you can use either Mobile Charging Cable with any Lucid vehicle.
Using the Lucid Mobile Charging Cable

Plugging in
Follow these steps to plug your vehicle in. If you are plugging in to a vehicle with a different charge port type than your charging cable, you will need an appropriate Lucid-approved AC charging adapter.
Step 1. Check your wall plug adapter and plug in.
Switch wall plug adapters if needed, then plug into an outlet. After about 5 seconds, the Lucid logo on the cable box should glow white, indicating you’re ready to charge. If it turns another color, check the User Manual for more information. If nothing happens, the outlet might not have power.
Step 2. Open the charge port door.
Open the charge port door by pressing it gently when your vehicle is unlocked.
Step 3. Plug the Mobile Charging Cable in to your vehicle.
Insert the charging connector firmly and completely into the charge port. Once inserted, the Lucid logo on the cable box will pulse white to indicate your vehicle is charging, and the cable will lock to prevent you from removing it while high-voltage current is flowing.
Unplugging
If you need to unplug before charging is complete, tap Stop Charging on the Pilot Panel or in the Lucid mobile app before proceeding. Once you’re done, or if charging is already complete, follow the steps below.
Step 1. Make sure charging has stopped.
Check your displays and the Lucid logo on the cable box, which should be glowing solid white, to make sure energy is no longer flowing. If it is, your cable will remain locked for your safety.
Step 2. Unplug the connector.
Hold the connector firmly with one hand, press the release button with your thumb, then pull it straight out of the charge port.
In the unlikely event the button doesn’t release the charging cable, you can find instructions on manually releasing it in your Owner’s Manual.
If you intend to use your Lucid Mobile Charging Cable frequently at home, we recommend leaving it plugged in to the wall to reduce wear and tear from daily use. If you do not plan to use it for an extended period of time (for example, going away on vacation), unplug it completely and store it in an appropriate location, such as your trunk.
Wall Plug Adapters
Both types of Mobile Charging Cable come standard with two wall plug adapters:
NEMA 5-15 wall plug adapter
The NEMA 5-15 wall plug adapter fits your standard household outlet. This wall plug adapter enables Level 1 AC charging (120V) and can add up to 3 miles of estimated range per hour.
NEMA 14-50 wall plug adapter
The NEMA 14-50 wall plug adapter fits the same type of outlet for plugging in certain household appliances. This wall plug adapter enables Level 2 AC charging (240V) and can add up to 40 miles of estimated range per hour.

The following adapters are available for purchase and may be used with the Mobile Charging Cable:
NEMA 14–30 wall plug adapter
The NEMA 14-30 wall plug adapter fits the same outlet you likely use for your dryer. This wall plug adapter enables Level 2 AC charging (240V) and can add up to 24 miles of estimated range per hour. Your electrician might suggest this outlet type if your panel has insufficient amperage available to install a NEMA 14–50 outlet.
RangeXchange™ charging adapter
Use your Lucid to charge any EV thanks to vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging with the RangeXchange Charging Adapter, which comes in both a J1772 version (pictured) and a NACS version and is compatible with second-generation Mobile Charging Cables.

Wall Plug Installation
You may already have a NEMA 14-30 or NEMA 14-50 outlet in your home, since these are popular outlets for certain household appliances. We recommend having a professional electrician inspect your home charging setup and any existing outlets and, if necessary, install a new, dedicated, industrial-grade outlet just for your vehicle. This is because the amount of current flowing through the outlet to charge an EV is substantially higher than it is for an appliance, and for longer periods of time. This high current could damage an existing outlet if it was not installed with high-quality parts.

Current Limiter
Your Lucid includes an advanced charging feature called Current Limiter that allows you to limit the power of the electrical current it accepts while Level 2 AC charging, including at home.
Your vehicle is capable of charging at 80 amperes. Your Lucid Connected Home Charging Station can deliver up to 80 amperes (80A), and other popular home charging stations deliver a range of maximum amperes, or amps. Depending on your home’s electrical panel and even your own preferences, you might decide to use Current Limiter to set a different current that is below the maximum. There are several reasons why this might be useful:
The circuit your home charger is on is rated for fewer amps.
You want to reduce the power demand on your EV charging circuit.
You would like to charge your vehicle more slowly.
You would like to match your charging rate with your home’s solar system power generation rate.
You are charging in an unfamiliar place and want to be extra conscientious about not blowing a breaker.
Your Current Limiter setting will apply only to the charging location you were in when you set it, such as your home or workplace. When you plug in elsewhere, your vehicle will not limit the number of amps it will accept.
Current Limiter will display on the Pilot Panel whenever your vehicle is plugged in to an AC charging station. The accepted current will appear in white, followed by the maximum allowed current (for example, 80A / 80A). This maximum value will change to reflect the maximum current available from the charging station.
To limit your current, tap the Minus button (−) to decrease the allowed current by 1-amp increments. Tap and hold to decrease the allowed current in 5-amp increments. The minimum value is 10A.
Lucid Home Charging Tips
A few simple steps can enhance your home charging experience, prolong the life of your vehicle’s battery, help you save money, and ensure you can head out with confidence every single day.
Always plug your vehicle in.
Even if you aren’t charging, plugging in helps power your vehicle’s battery management system, Remote Climate features, and more. It’s a best practice to plug in whenever a charger is available, especially at home or during periods when you aren’t driving, like when you’re away on vacation.
Set your charge limit to Daily.
Your battery operates best when it is charged to between 50% and 80%. Setting your charge limit to Daily stops the flow of energy automatically at an optimal battery percentage, reducing stress and prolonging battery life.
Schedule your charging.
Your utility may offer special, lower electricity rates during off-peak hours, allowing you to schedule your charging during these times to take advantage of cheaper electricity.
Maintain your equipment.
Regardless of charging voltage, outlet type, or wall plug versus hardwired installation, store your cable off the ground when not in use, keep your equipment clean and dry, and inspect it regularly to ensure it’s in good condition.
Charging at Home in Different Climates
When charging in very cold or hot environments, your Lucid may use some of the energy it’s receiving to heat or cool the battery. This may increase charging times, particularly if you’re charging using a standard 120-volt household outlet.
You can mitigate the effects of climate and temperature when charging at home by following these best practices:
Install a Lucid Connected Home Charging station for the highest-power charging
Plug in and charge right after driving, while your battery temperature is still optimal
Charge in a garage with smaller temperature swings
If a garage isn’t available, charge in a sheltered location, such as an exterior wall of your home that is protected from the wind, preferably at Level 2 (240V)

Frequently Asked Questions
My Mobile Charging Cable isn’t charging my Lucid, what should I do?
The most common reason your vehicle isn’t charging with the Mobile Charging Cable is that the wall plug adapter isn’t fully inserted into the charging cable box.
Your Lucid Mobile Charging Cable comes with two wall plug adapters. When you switch adapters, it’s important to insert the end of the adapter fully into the mobile charging cable box. The connection is designed to withstand the elements, so the seal is tight. You may need to use more force than expected to fully insert the adapter and ensure the electrical components are making contact. If you are trying to charge at home but nothing is happening, check this first.
Another common reason your vehicle isn’t charging is that the charging cable isn’t properly inserted. Just unplug, wait a few seconds, and plug in again. Doing this can resolve a lot of other temporary charging errors, too, including authentication errors, charging equipment errors, and more, because unplugging and plugging in again resets the charging system.
If you run into a charging error, the best way to resolve it will be displayed in the notification on the Pilot Panel. If the system determines that you can’t fix the problem yourself, you can schedule service or contact Customer Care.
How fast does the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station charge?
Your Lucid Connected Home Charging Station is one of the fastest Level 2 AC home charging stations available on the market. It charges at 240 volts and up to 80 amps, which can add up to 80 miles of range per hour.¹ Many different factors can affect how fast you charge, but with the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station, you will be able to recharge your battery faster than with other home charging solutions.
I live in an apartment, where should I charge?
More and more apartment complexes are installing AC charging stations as a perk for current and future residents. These stations are a great way to charge your vehicle like you would if you had a charging station in your own garage.
If your apartment or condo doesn’t have any yet, ask your property manager or HOA if they can install some. After all, the more people request them, the likelier they will get installed. In the meantime, you may need to rely on public charging infrastructure, including public AC charging stations at retail locations or your place of work, as well as public DC fast charging stations. And thanks of Lucid’s industry-leading range, you’ll be able to charge much less frequently than many other EVs.
What factors affect Level 1 (120V) home charging speeds?
Level 1 charging means charging with 120 volts of alternating current (AC) provided by a regular household outlet. Charging at 120 volts is the slowest way to charge, and charging speed can vary significantly from home to home. Circuit amperage, wiring quality, whether there is a dedicated circuit or whether other energy-intensive appliances use the same circuit, and even local voltage fluctuations can all affect charging speed. The fastest way to charge at home is with the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station.
Can I charge my Lucid with a Tesla Wall Connector?
In most cases, yes.
While older Tesla Wall Connectors were developed before the North America Charging Standard (NACS) was widely adopted, they should still work with Lucid vehicles.
Lucid Air models with a CCS1 charge port will require an adapter. Use a Lucid-approved NACS-to-J1772 AC charging adapter to plug in. Some Tesla chargers, such as the Universal Wall Connector, include an integrated adapter that can also be used. Lucid Gravity features a native NACS charge port and can plug in without an adapter.
Depending on the Wall Connector model, additional configuration may be required. Some units include settings (such as Legacy Mode, Compatibility Mode, or All EVs Mode) that control whether other vehicles can charge. Check your Wall Connector documentation or contact Tesla directly for instructions specific to your hardware.
