DIY Service Overview
Many of the day-to-day service and maintenance tasks that keep your Lucid Air running smoothly are so easy, you can perform them yourself, without visiting a Service Center. If your service and maintenance needs are more complex, schedule service in the Lucid mobile app.
Only perform the DIY service tasks you are comfortable and confident you can do so safely. Some tasks should only be performed by Lucid Service or a qualified technical. Always review your Owner’s Manual before doing any service-related tasks yourself and be sure to follow the instructions provided.
How to Check and Adjust the Tire Pressure in Lucid Air
Lucid Air Tire Pressure Overview
As the four points of contact between your Lucid Air and the open road, your tires are a foundation of your electric vehicle’s performance. Making sure they are at the correct tire pressure helps extend their useful life, optimize your vehicle’s range, and ensure safe operation. Checking and adjusting your tire pressure is easy, and your Lucid Air’s advanced tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) displays your current tire pressure information both in the vehicle and in the Lucid mobile app and can alert you when your tire pressure is low.¹
Tire Pressure Best Practices
Always check and adjust tire pressure when the tires are cold, meaning that you haven’t driven your vehicle for at least three hours or have driven less than a mile.
If you check when your tires are warm, the pressure may be higher than the recommended value due to normal temperature-related changes. Check the pressure again once your tires are cold for an accurate reading.
If an amber tire pressure alert appears on your display, check the affected tire when it is safe to do so.
Consider having a Lucid-approved Tire Repair Kit handy in case you need it for a sudden decrease in pressure due to a punctured tire.
Checking Your Tire Pressure Digitally
Check your tire pressure on the Pilot Panel by tapping Settings > Vehicle > Tire Pressure. Your TPMS reads and displays your current tire pressure once your vehicle has been driven over 13 miles per hour. If you need to, take a quick spin (under a mile) to get an accurate reading. Check the Recommended tab to see the recommended cold tire pressure for your Lucid Air. This recommended pressure will also be listed on the sticker on the inside of the driver’s side door.
Note: Your recommended tire pressure varies according to trim, tire size, and some driving behaviors. Verify the recommended tire pressure for all situations in your Owner’s Manual.
Checking Your Tire Pressure Manually
Always check your tire pressure in a safe place, away from other moving vehicles. Have a tire pressure gauge handy. We recommend checking your tire pressure at least monthly and before longer drives.
Remove the cap from the valve on your tire.
Firmly press the tire gauge onto the valve until you get a pressure reading.
Compare it to the recommended pressure for your Lucid Air.
Adjust as necessary following the steps below.
Replace the valve cap and turn it until it is securely in place.
Adjusting Your Tire Pressure
Always adjust your tire pressure in a safe place, away from other moving vehicles. Have a tire pressure gauge handy to check your tire pressure as you add or remove air.
If using a digital air pump, set the target PSI on the display before you begin filling your tire. If using a manual air pump, alternate between adding air for a few seconds, then checking the pressure with the gauge to avoid overfilling. Never fill a tire over the maximum pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire.
To add air, firmly press the air pump hose nozzle straight onto the tire value. Press until you no longer hear a hissing sound or, for automatic pumps, you hear air flowing into the tire.
Continue until the digital pump turns off, or you have filled the tire to the correct pressure and have verified using your gauge.
If you overfilled your tire, release a little air by pressing the pin in the middle of the valve until you hear light hissing, which is the sound of the air leaving the tire.
Check the pressure one final time. Screw the plastic valve cap down until it is secure to lock out dirt, debris, or liquid, and help prevent slow leaks.
Lucid Air Punctured Tire Guidance
Lucid Air Punctured Tire Overview
Your Lucid Air is equipped with tubeless tires that may not immediately leak if they are punctured, especially if the object stays in the tire. However, driving with a punctured tire is dangerous. If you feel a sudden vibration or changes to how your Lucid Air is riding or handling, your tire may have been punctured.
If you suspect your tire is punctured:
Slow down and drive slowly to a safe place to pull over.
Inspect your tires for damage or foreign objects.
If you notice a tire is underinflated but not damaged, try using the Tire Repair Kit.
If you are unable to identify the cause of the issue, contact Lucid’s 24/7 Roadside Assistance for towing to the nearest Service Center.
How to Maintain the Wiper Blades in Your Lucid Air
Lucid Air Wiper Blades Overview
Your wiper blades are designed to be extra durable, and regular maintenance can help them last even longer. You should regularly check your wiper blades and clean the wiping edge to improve performance and visibility. Over time, wiper blades may show signs of damage, leading to chattering, skipping, streaking, or improper cleaning, affecting your ability to see the road.
Inspecting Lucid Air Wiper Blades
Check the rubber wiping edge of your blades often for dirt, cracks, splits, or roughness. Clean any stubborn grime with a microfiber cloth and either rubbing alcohol or windshield washer fluid.
If you find the wiping edge is damaged in any way, replace the blades to prevent damage to your windshield and ensure proper visibility.
Replacing Lucid Air Wiper Blades
Wiper blades can wear out over time, especially in certain climates or when used frequently. Checking them regularly is the best way to determine when it’s time to replace them.

To replace your wiper blades:
Open the frunk to gain easier access to the wipers.
Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.
Push the locking tab in, then slide the detachable wiper blade off the arm.
Orient the new blade in the same direction as the one you just removed.
Slide the new blade into place on the arm until it clicks.
Gently lower the wiper arm and new blade back onto the windshield and close the frunk.
How to Clean the Washer Jets in Lucid Air
Lucid Air Windshield Washer Jet Overview
From time to time, your windshield wipers might not completely clean your windshield or may leave streaks. This is most often due to old wiper blades that need to be replaced, but another potential cause may be blocked or clogged windshield washer fluid jets. Cleaning these jets regularly can help ensure proper visibility and prolong the life if your wiper blades.
To clean the washer jets:
Open the frunk to gain easier access to the wipers.
Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.
Locate the washer jet on the side of the wiper blade facing the windshield, where it attaches to the wiper arm.
Use a small, soft-bristled brush, like an old toothbrush, and warm water to scrub the jet and remove any debris or buildup.
As a secondary method, use a can of compressed air to blow a stream of air into a clog to loosen any debris or buildup, followed by the brush.
For more serious clogs, use a small piece of flexible wire and insert it into the jet nozzle to clear the blockage. When possible, pull any debris out rather than push it back into the jet. Do not push too hard or move the wire around forcefully to avoid damaging the jet.
Return the wiper arm to the starting position, close the frunk, then test the windshield washing feature in your vehicle. Let the windshield washing fluid spray for a little longer than usual to ensure the jets are unobstructed.
How to Clean and Care for Your Lucid Air
Lucid Air Exterior Cleaning Overview
Driving a clean electric vehicle doesn’t just make you a more confident driver, it can also help keep your EV in good working order. That’s because the environment can take a toll on your Lucid’s exterior:
Mud, dust, and dirt can build up on your vehicle’s cameras and sensors and the underbody, affecting driving performance and feature availability
Salt from the ocean or winter driving can build up and accelerate oxidation and rust on metal parts
Tree sap, bird droppings, and dead bugs can corrode your paint
Regular washing helps mitigate the effects of the environment and keep your vehicle looking good and driving well.
Lucid Air and Automatic Car Washes
Only visit touchless car washes that do not use acidic cleaners. Acidic cleaners can damage plastic components in vehicles, and the tools and brushes used at some car washes are aggressive enough to damage your vehicle and paint.
Lucid Air and Pressure Washers
Pressure washers can also damage your vehicle and its components when improperly used. We recommend using a regular garden hose with a spray nozzle instead.
Lucid Air and Hand Washing
Washing your vehicle by hand is the best way to clean it without affecting any delicate components:
Rinse your vehicle with water to remove dirt and dust. Using even a clean cloth to wipe your vehicle can scratch the paint if there is still dirt present.
Using lukewarm water and a mild automotive soap with a soft cloth or sponge, wash all the parts of your vehicle, especially the windshield, lights, cameras, and sensors. You can check where these are in your Owner’s Manual.
Rinse your vehicle with a gentle stream of water but without aiming the stream into vents, seams, or other delicate areas to remove all soap or other cleaning products.
Thoroughly dry your Lucid with a cotton cloth or chamois to avoid leaving any water spots on the finish.
Clean any stubborn spots with denatured alcohol and a soft cloth. Wash the alcohol away with water as soon as you remove the stain.
Use a hose to thoroughly remove any salt and dirt from the underbody and anywhere else it might accumulate, like the wheel wells.
Regular waxing helps protect paint. We recommend polishing your vehicle before reapplying any wax.
Lucid Air Interior Cleaning Overview
We recommend regularly inspecting and cleaning your Lucid Air’s interior to keep everything looking and smelling fresh while also identifying potential areas that require attention or service.
General Interior Cleaning
Clean vehicle surfaces with a non-solvent-based cleaner designed for auto detailing and a clean microfiber cloth. Test cleaners in an inconspicuous area before using them for general cleaning. Abrasive cleaners or cloths could scratch or otherwise damage surfaces.
Use appropriate products for the type of surface you are cleaning, such as a leather cleaner and leather protector for genuine leather seats to maintain color, prevent abrasions, and keep leather looking as smooth and rich as the day your Lucid was delivered. When in doubt, use a lint-free cloth dampened with warm water and avoid excess moisture, especially on absorbent surfaces like your seat cushions.
When to Contact a Service Center
If you notice any part or component that is not working as expected or is showing signs of damage, our Service team would be happy to assist you. Damage or cracks on your airbag cover should be inspected right away.
How to Replace Your Lucid Air Key Fob Battery
Lucid Air Key Fob Battery Overview
Over time, your key fob battery will need to be replaced. When the battery is low, you will see a Key Fob Battery Low notification on the Glass Cockpit. When you see this notification, replace the battery in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted key fob use.
Your key fob uses a CR2032 battery. Keep these batteries away from children, as they can present a choking hazard and are dangerous if swallowed. Always dispose of used batteries properly. To replace your key fob battery:
Remove the battery cover by gently inserting a small, flathead screwdriver into the opening between the battery cover and the key fob body. Press gently until the battery cover pops off.
Remove the old battery.
Place the new battery in the key fob with the + side facing upwards. Avoid touching the flat surfaces of the battery on either side, since finger marks can affect conductivity and reduce battery life. If you do touch the battery, wipe it clean before placing it in the key fob.
Replace the battery cover by putting the top edge in first, then gently pressing it until it clicks into place and is flush with the key fob body.
Note: If your key fob battery is completely depleted, you can still use it to access your Lucid Air, but the key fob button will no longer work. To unlock your doors with a depleted key fob, press the driver’s side door handle, then touch the key job to the door pillar just under the camera and move it in small circles. The NFC reader will detect the key fob and unlock the doors. You can lock the vehicle the same way.
To authorize driving when accessing the vehicle with a depleted key fob, you will need to enter a PIN on the Pilot Panel.
How to Access and Drive Your Lucid Air With Your Key Card
Lucid Air Key Card Overview
Your Lucid Air comes equipped with a Lucid key card that can serve as a useful backup method for accessing your vehicle if your smartphone or key fob battery is depleted or if neither of these methods is available. You can also loan it to a friend, valet driver, or service professional at a Lucid Service Center to allow them to access your vehicle.
Your Lucid key card relies on near-field communication (NFC) to communicate with your vehicle, authenticate the card holder, and authorize driving. This technology relies on proximity, not battery power, to work.
To lock or unlock the doors using the Lucid key card, hold the card just below the camera on the center pillar behind the driver’s side door.
To authorize driving when accessing the vehicle with a key card, you will need to enter a PIN on the Pilot Panel. Press and hold the brake pedal and enter your PIN to drive. If you have loaned the key card to another driver, you will need to share your PIN with them to allow them to drive.
